spring show project

Dear Parents and Students;

Over the long weekend I would like the students to do a small project. For the spring show the theme is The Evolution of African American Music. We are working with one of the fourth grade classes; they are performing song and dance from the Swing/Jazz age. What our class has to do is research someone from that era and give a little background on them or some background on the time period. The students have already covered some of this with the reports they did for Black History Month. Please have them do some research and decorate a poster with pictures, please make the art portion colorful. This information will line the stairwells and auditorium as decorations during the show. This project is due on Wednesday May 7th, 2008.
Also, at the end of this month is the SFA science fair. Our class is required to do a small science project. I will be sending home information about this after the long weekend. I will give a list of topics to choose from, they will be topics that we've covered in class.
Please remember that the Communion students must be at the parish center at 8:30 am on Friday May 2nd for their retreat day. The Communion mass is at 12:00pm on Sunday May 4th. See you there!
If you have any questions about either assignment please feel free to email me at alejandro@sfabrooklyn.org. I will get back to you promptly.
