February 13th, 2009
Due Date for the Black History Report is 2/23/09
Due Date for the Science Project is 3/3/09

Dear Parents and Students:

During the month of March the Third Grade will be visiting the New York Aquarium. We will be taking place in an educational workshop called Marine Mammals. This workshop will teach the students how marine mammals thrive in this harsh environment. We will discover the adaptations for moving, feeding, and breeding. All of this fits into our science curriculum for the second trimester.
Over the February break we are asking for the students to look up a marine mammal and give some general information in a 1 to 2 page report, including pictures. This MUST be in your child's handwriting, and not directly copied from the internet. Have them summarize what they have read.
This project, along with what we do at the aquarium will [hopefully] be what the third graders submit for this years Science Fair in May. If your child does not complete this part of the assignment they will not be allowed to join us on the trip. This workshop is a progression throughout the next three months; all parts must be completed to receive the whole science grade.
We are confident that you will make your child's education first and foremost in their lives as well as yours. This project is due on Wednesday March 3rd, 2009. As well as the Black History Report which is due on Monday February 23rd, 2009.
*****Remember that the $90.00 is due for Communion fees. The next meeting is Sunday March 15th.*****
