Reminders: Friday 4/3 is an 11:00 dismissal. Remember to fill in your reading contract, have your parents sign. Easter vacation is Thursday 4/9-4/19.

Spelling: store, near, fair, storm, stare, deer, hair, beard, glare, important, engineer, sore, dare, force, weary. Challenge: advice, curious, discuss, experiment, scientific. Do Now: copy, abc order, 3 x each, definitions, sentences, & story.

ELA: The Many Lives of Ben Franklin. Read aloud and motivate, develop visual literacy, vocabulary, read the selection, main idea, judgments and decisions, root words, & listening, speaking, viewing, representing.


Grammar: Possessive Pronouns and Using an Apostrophe (pages 141-146.)
Phonics: Vowels u, o, and r controlled vowels, silent letters, soft g & c, and variant vowels (pages 89-96.)
Handwriting: Tt (pages 58-59.) Progress pages (60-61.)

***Reminder***

Well it's fianlly here! Our much anticipated trip to the New York Aquarium is on Monday. Please wear your gym uniform, regular clothing is not allowed. Please pack a lunch, we will not be visiting the cafeteria and the school will not be able to provide lunch so early. Do not send your child with any money, we will not be buying any food, nor visiting the gift shop. In my experience it is just easier not to carry money, nor go shopping as a large group. I sent home notice to the parents that will be joining us. I really appricite the others that offered to help, remember that we have field day coming up and we will try to plan another trip for you to join us on. I understand that your child maybe upset, but I am trying to give all parents a chance to take a turn. Chaperones please be at the school by 9:00am, we will be leaving by 9:30 sharp!!!!!

Religion: what were the three things that the devil tempted Jesus with? What were Jesus' answers to the devil? What did the story of the Temptation of Jesus teach us?

Reminders: St. Patrick's Day 3/17. S. Joseph's Day 3/19 we will attend the 8:30 mass. We are holding registration for new students. Spring Equinox on 3/20. 3/23 is the 3rd grade trip to the N.Y. Aquarium.

Do Now: sisters, giant, once, city, stage, jewels, judge, twice, message, circle, gym, rage, jolly, ledge, sunset. Challenge words: delighted, disguised, furious, paced, route. A,B,C order, 3 times each, define challenge words, sentences for all words, & a story.

ELA: Lon Po Po. Audio and Visual motivation, vocabulary, story, judgments and decisions, review summarize, and context clues.
Grammar: singular and plural pronouns (pages 129-134.)
Phonics: Silent letters, Soft c and g (pages 84-88.)
Handwriting: R & S (pages 54-57.)

Math: 6 & 7 as Factors (pages 320-323.) 8 as a Factor (pages 324-327.) Multiplication game that allows students to find answers.

Religion: Finish Chapter 15 on sacraments. Lenten activity. St. Joseph and St. Patrick. Begin the Act of Contrition.

Social Studies: activities and information on the countries of Italy and Ireland.

Science: What Makes Up an Ecosystem (pages B 6- 11?)
Homework: Define spelling words, practice wkbk pages 149-155. Math wkbk pages R & P 6-2, 6-3. Religion: what are the sacraments of service to others? How are married people and bishops, priests, and deacons signs of God's love and service? Work on the saints, study for exam and Act of Contrition. Science: questions given in class and worksheets.  Religion textbook read pages 176 & 177. Answer these questions: What are the sacraments of healing? How can we follow Jesus' example of forgiveness and healing? ****(All of this will be on the exam on Friday.)****
