Homework for 9/28

Remember that this week is the Terra Nova exam. We will be testing every morning, please be on time and have a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and bring # 2 pencils.
On Wednesday afternoon we will be going to the Maple Street library, send in those library cards!
I sent home a generic absent letter, please make a number of copies for yourself and send them in when your child is out.
Define spelling words 1-5 (might, life, rode, own, most.)
Religion: What is the Kingdom of God?
Science: Give 5 ways that you keep your home healthy.

Reminders: This week is the Terra Nova testing. This exam takes up a large portion of the week and each day. Please make sure that you each get a good night's sleep, and that you eat breakfast. Please bring #2 pencils with you. Friday is an 11:00 dismissal for a teachers meeting.

ELA: Continue with area's that are questionable. Begin the Illusionary Tale: Opt.
Grammar: subjects, punctuation, & capitalization (pages 13-18.)
Phonics: consonant blends (pages 13-18.)
Handwriting: Dd & Ee.

Math: Continue Place Value. Greater Numbers. 10,000, 100,000, and 1,000,000. (pages 12, 13, 14, & 15.)

Religion: Chapter 2 continued. Jesus teaches us about God's love.

Science: Continue with Forces. Lab activity: Students will work in groups and have to use different forces to work different muscles in their bodies.

Soc. Stud: Begin work on Manhattan and The Bronx.

Homework will be light this week so that the students are well rested and not feeling so pressured during the Terra Nova test. Please check the web site nightly for homework. There will not be any class tests this week. Next week we will begin again with a spelling test on Friday and a religion test on Thursday. We will visit the Maple Street Library on Wednesday so bring your library cards!

Do something fun for the first weekend of Autumn, there are some fantastic places Upsate New York, New Jersey, Pennsilvania, and Conneticut that you can go apple picking. You can do some picture taking in the orchards and when you get home you can spend time together baking. Make baking into a math lesson for your child.
Next week is the Terra Nova exam begins Monday. Make sure that your child gets a good nights sleep, eats breakfast, has # 2 pencils, and is at school ON TIME!!!!!!!
