homework for mid-winter recess

PA%20Duryea%201950s%20Potcholonis%20Grandmother%20and%20Grandchildren[1].jpgimages[1].jpgasaccharumform[1].jpg Due on February 22nd, 2010

Family Tree
On a piece of oak tag, DRAW a tree. Please go as far back as your great-grandparents, include aunts, uncles, and cousins. Make sure that you are the focal point. Add pictures of each family member and label each family member and tell me who they are to you.

Women's History Month
During March we celebrate Women's History month. I'd like you to pick a woman (any woman) that you admire. Why do you admire her? What has she done to make her admirable? Would you like to be like her when you grow up? How will you get to that point?

Native New Yorkers
We are very lucky to live in New York, a place filled with rich history and many sights to see. As New Yorkers we take a lot of things for granted. Please locate one native tree, bush, or plant and animal that are native to our beautiful state. Please find a picture, attach it to a piece of construction paper, and write a little bit of information about both on index cards (1 index card for each.)

Snow Day Homework
Please make sure that all of the homework from the snow days is complete and ready to be checked on Monday February 22nd. Please bring in the supplies that I asked for on February 22nd. 3-105 will be going on a trip to Brooklyn College on Tuesday February 23rd, 2010. Please send in the signed trip slip and $9.00.

Replenish

crayons[1].jpgDear Parents and Students:

We are officially at the mid-year point. The first half of the school year has gone very well. We went on a trip to Green Meadows Farm, had a prayer service in the SFA Peace Garden, we celebrated all of the harvest holiday's, we've had three pizza days to help raise money for the class of 2010, we performed in the SFA Christmas show, and participated in Catholic Schools Week. Plus much more.
I am writing to remind you of all the fun to come and to ask for a few items. Ash Wednesday is on 2/17, while we are on mid-winter recess. 3-105 will be going on a trip to Brooklyn College on February 23rd to see a show. Report cards are next month, the Easter season is approaching. Our First Communion candidates have been working very hard, and Field Day is on May 28th.
It is also time to replenish your child's supplies. For example crayons are very hard to come by; many students did not even start out the year with a package. Notebooks (homework and class work,) pencils with their names already on it (use a sharpie.) Cleaning products for the desks and chairs, hand soap, hand sanitizer, Lysol spray, and paper towel. We have plenty of tissue. Some parents may also be inclined to send in white printing paper or construction paper.
All of this is due when we return to school on February 22nd, along with homework given.
