I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!! I hope you were able to have some quality time with your family. This is a busy season here at SFA. There is a lot going on this week and the next couple of weeks to come. Please continue to check out the website during the week.

Advent has begun and our school is going to focus on the theme of hope this week. The 8th grade will lead a prayer in the auditorium on Monday and each day of Advent to follow another class will lead the prayer.

Parent/teacher conferences are this Thursday and Friday. Please make sure you have signed up for a time and that you are on time. If you need more time to meet with the teacher there will be a place for you to sign up.

Even though it is a short week it is still a busy one.

Thank you again to Marilyn's aunt for coming with us to see Crossings. I also would like to thank Niearra's dad for coming with us as well. As some of the kids put it "It was the best trip yet." It was an emotional, honest and enjoyable show about Immigration and the hardships people go through to come to the USA. We are so lucky we were able to go and see it.

Please make sure you signed up for a conference time in order to get your child's report card.
Also make sure all payments are up to date, if not you may be delayed in getting your child's report card.

Congratulations to Esther and Arielle-our class math bee winners!!
There will be many more math bees to come so keep practicing!

Thank you to those students who brought in canned goods to donate to the parish.

Dear Parents/Guardians

The 7th & 8th grade teachers have planned a trip on November 20th to St.James Cathedral Pavilion to see a performance titled "Crossings". However 30 students haven't either brought in the permission slip or money. The trips must be paid for ahead of time.We are giving the students until Thursday to bring in the permission slips because students cannot exit the school grounds without it. All students will be held accountable for the money.

We had a great walk-a-thon! Thanks to all of those who helped us raise money.

Thanks again to Preston's mom and Marilyn's aunt for coming with us to the Walk-a-thon.

7th and 8th grade is collecting corn beef, salmon, and peas. Please bring in this food before Thursday Nov. 20. We will donate these foods to those in need. Our whole school is doing this and this is the food that was assigned to our grades.

Thursday we are going to see Crossings. We still need chaperones-please email us if you are able to come.

Thanks to all those who contributed to the walk-a-thon. It was a lot of fun and a big success. If you did not bring in any money you have until Friday to do so.

We are planning on going to see a show Nov 20 and sent home permission slips a couple of weeks ago. If they are not returned by Friday the 14th and if we don't have chaperones, we may not be able to go-please bring that in!!

Report cards are around the corner-please make sure you are all caught up.

Have you done castle learning? It was due today!! (Nov. 11) Another 2 will be posted to be completed.

I am happy to announce that we will be conducting our own election on Tuesday. The 8th graders have created a ballot and will be tallying the totals. The winner will be announced by 2:00 on Tuesday. The students will also be using the data to create charts and graphs. It is an exciting time in our history!!!

There is also math bees going on this week in order to determine who will be in our school wide finale next Monday.

The 7th grade is finishing their board games this week and that will be their test grade. They will be playing eachothers games and doing worksheets on that.

The 8th grade is working on a movie project and will get a grade for that. They also will have a chapter test this week.

Progress reports are due back today, Monday 11/3.

How is the walk-a-thon fundraising coming? Our walk-a-thon is next Monday. Please let me know if you can be with us from 10-11 next Monday to help out.

We had such a wonderful time on our trip on Thursday!!! Thanks to Marilyn's aunt and Ms. Harewood for coming with us!! Also a big thanks to Keylani's uncle, and Ms. Judy for helping us out!
