A new year...a new start... math hw and announcements for week of 1/4

Welcome back!

I hope everyone had a restful and prodcutive vacation. Each student before they left made goals for math for the next trimester and I look forward to working with each of them on obtaining those goals.

Most of the goals would be accomplished if they were focused and did all that was asked and expected of them. This is much easier said than done. But I know they can do it!!!

This week on Weds. we go to mass to celebrate the Ephiphany.
Friday we have half a day because of a faculty meeting.
Both classes are back to tests and quizzes on their regular days. (7th-weds, 8th-thurs)

I am making sure I really focus a lot on differentiated learning this new year. This is a technique in which different leveled worksheets will be given out to each child, based on their ability. I have labeled these worksheets Love it and Gotta Have it. My goal is to make the children feel challenged, but not overwhelmed so these leveled tests and worksheets should help do that. If anyone feels they are on the wrong level feel free to email me or talk with me after class.
