Extra credit opportunities

Here are some extra credit opportunities:

1. Do an extra castle learning
2. Go to radiolab.org click on the numbers on the right and side-and take a listen. It is a couple of stories about how numbers are part of our life. It also talks about babies and how they begin to understand numbers. It is very interesting-then write for me what you enjoyed, what bored you, and what you learned
3. Keep a log for one day about when you use math. Make a column that says time and one that says what you used math for For example: 5:45-used math because I read the clock when my alarm rang, or 6:03-I calculated how many minutes I had left before I had to leave and so on
4. Tell me some of the fun math websites you go to
5. Do a KenKen
6. Do a Suduku
7. Find a worksheet on the 24 game

The more you put into it, the more you get out of it.

The Lenten Season begins....

I hope everyone has had a restful vacation. We are now preparing for Easter and are in the Lenten Season. This should be a time of sacrafice, prayer and service.

The take home tests, from vacation, as well as Castle Learning are all due on Monday, 2/22. If they are not complete you will not be able to attend the dance on 2/27. It also is important because these assignments help you retain and obtain knowledge and that is ultimately why I assign them.

Also the 100th day of School is on Tuesday! We will be doing some fun little activities to celebrate this day.

Both grades will have their normal quizzes this week.
