Progress Reports were given out on Friday Oct. 26, 2007. Please return them by Wed. Oct. 31, 2007. If you would like a conference with any of the teachers, please notify me via the email and I will arrange the appointment. Just list your name, possible dates/times and the teacher(s) you would like to meet with.

Monday - copy poem on pages 8-10 in the Maryknoll Magazine, into your prayer section
Tuesday - Read pages 5, 6, 7 of the Maryknoll Magazine
Wednesday - Answer the 5 questions in your notebook, Study for test
Thursday - Visit the Website Mother Mary Joseph Rogers and create a Graphic Organizer of her life. (Must have at least 15 events)
Friday - Create a time line using the story "Mother of the Colcoa" (in your notebook)

Saints Essay is due on Friday !!!

Remember that the 2007 SFA Walkathon is on November 9, 2007. It is very important that the students look for sponsors and continue collecting donations. We are working towards a goal of 100 % participation!!!

We are also looking for volunteers to help the day of the Walkathon.

*Progress reports will be given out on Friday!!! Please keep your eyes open for them.

*The specialized test is this Saturday at Brooklyn Tech. When I receive the admission ticket I will pass it on to you.

*All classes had a notebook check-look in their notebooks to see how well they are doing!!

*Wednesday is individual picture day. Everyone will get their picture taken. Only those children who are paying for pictures are allowed to dress out of uniform.

*Saturday is the Halloween Party-please bring candy and goodies in to school this week-so we are prepared for Saturday.

*The Middle States Committee is coming on Sunday. Please join us at 3 p.m. for the wonderful show that some of the children will be in.

-There is a field trip to Museum of Natural History on Thursday. All permission slips and money are past due.
Anyone who is available to chaperone please let us know ASAP.

-7th grade is working on a board game project-Part 1 is past due.
-8th grade has just finished the planet brochures. (So many of them were done so well and were really wonderful-the students are very very creative!!! Ask your child to see their work)

We are sending home the public high school applications on Wednesday. There will be a note attached to it about the importance of visiting the schools and researching the schools before you put them on your list. If you have not seen this application by Thursday the latest-please let us know. Please also be aware that the forms are due back in early November. Feel free to contact myself or Ms. Black if you have any questions.

Class Trip - 10/18/07
Please bring in the trip slip and the fee before Tuesday.

High School Applications
We will be sending a letter home Tuesday about the NYC Public High School forms. The applications will be sent home by the end of the week, so that the students and their families can work on the application.

2007 SFA Walkathon
Students received a letter and a sponsor sheet for the annual walkathon that will be held on November 9, 2007. We have a great time at the park and would love to see parents, grandparents and other family members cheering us on and we walk to raise money for our school. The goal is for each student to raise $35. Each child that meets the $35 will receive a newly designed Walkathon T-shirt.

This Wednesday night we are having a meeting about High Schools. This meeting is starting at 5 and will end at 6. Notices were sent home last week about it.

-Because it is a short week, there will be no tests this week. The 7th grade will get a quiz grade for a notebook check and the 8th grade will be getting grades for their planet brochure.

-Please encourage the children to do their homework-many are far behind.

I would like to continue to stress the importance of doing homework each night. Not only does it make you practice, but it also makes you feel more confident and helps you the next day feel prepared and ready to participate so please, please, please do your homework on time. If you need assistance please feel free to see me before school or at recess.
