Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is error, the truth;
Where there is doubt, the faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled, as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.

School is Open !!!

Welcome Back !
12.jpg This is going to be a great year, even if we are starting out with some of the hottest days of the summer.

This year we will be celebrating the 100th Anniversary of St. Francis of Assisi school. The school is beginning the year with a short prayer service on Monday September 8 at 8:00 am in the garden.
100thbanner.jpg

Seventh and eighth Graders need to keep in mind the importance of completing their summer assignments. These are the first grades for Trimester 1 and a great way to start the year is with A's.

On Monday, we will be starting classes and that means that the work begins. However, the key is to stay positive. There is so much to learn and we get to spend a year together investigating and exploring the history of the United States. It is quite possible that we will come up with the answers to solve the problems of our country. We are also in an incredible position of being witnesses to history in the making. The 2008 Presidential Election is going to be an event that will change the course of the United States. We are living in this amazing time and this will be a fantastic year at St. Francis.

If you email me with the correct answer to the questions below extra credit is available.

Who was the first female Vice Presidential candidate? What year was the election? What political party was she from?
