Olympic Fever

Have you been watching the Olympics?
The thrill of achieving their dreams and the agony of defeat. Did you see the speed skater Shani Davis defend his title and win his second gold medal? He set the world record !!

There were also the amazing downhill skiing victories of Lindsey Vonn and Julia Mancuso . Go Team USA !!

Last but certainly not least is the skill displayed by Shaun White who took his snowboard to victory and won the gold !!
AND this is just what happened today !!!!! Hard Work does pay off !!

Black History Project

Part I
Students will choose an individual from one of the following areas: Politics, Mathematics, Science, Technology, Civil Rights or Education.
They must bring in the name to Ms. Black for approval by Wednesday.
Part II
1. Students will create a timeline on the individual's life. This will have 25 events.
2. Students will receive piece of construction paper to create a bio. This bio will include: a picture, name and dates. The construction paper will be given out as follows: yellow- politics, mathematics- green, science - blue, technology - orange, civil rights - red, education purple. We will be using these squares to create a quilt.
3. Students will create a 5 question quiz. The questions should be multiple choice.
The project is due on Tuesday February 23, 2010.
