Sacrament Program
On Sunday, May 22, fifty children from the parish received their First Communion at a beautiful ceremony during the 12:00 Parish Liturgy.
The sun shone brightly as the children entered into this great prayer of the Church. Twenty-six of the children were from the school, most of them in grade 3.
In September, children who are now in grade 7 will begin their year of preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation which will be administered by the bishop in the spring of 2006. Please watch for letters of information in the early part of September.

Oratorical Contest Winner
Congratulations to Sheina McClendon who placed first in the Brooklyn Diocesan Speech competition in Brooklyn reciting Malcolm X's speech, "The Ballot or the Bullet". Attending the competition were her mother and her ELA teacher, Mrs. Sucre who proudly witnessed this significant event. All of us at SFA join in congratulating her.
