Fun at SFA Halloween Party

Halloween Fall.06 027.jpg

Great fun was had by all at the annual Halloween Party. Thanks to Mrs. Browne- Baird, all the parent helpers, students in 8th grade and Ms. Becht who created the Haunted Hallway and to all of you who sent the many goodies. We raised more than $1500. Our next event is the WALKATHON on Nov. 7th. Hopefully friends and families will sponsor your children and this will not be a costly event for you!

Fall Events

As was already reported a few times, there are a few fun activities coming in the next three weeks. Many of you have volunteered to send items for the Halloween party and some have volunteered to assist with the various activities. We need lots of assistance and some ideas for fun activities. Another notice will go out this week for help in decorating, setup and cleanup for this fun event on Saturday, Oct. 28th.

On Thursday, Oct. 27th, we will have our annual PUMPKIN PATCH in the Church garden for grades K, 1, 3 and 4, if you would like to make a donation for the pumpkins, please send $1.00 or $2.00 to help defray the cost. It is traditional for grade 2 to travel to the pumpkin farm on SI and they bring back their pumpkins.

Our very important FALL event is our annual WALKATHON. This year we moved it away for Halloween and will walk on Tuesday, Nov. 7. There are still a few weeks to get sponsors and donations for the walk. Father Juan invited and urges the students to request assistance from the parishioners. Please think of doing this. We have received two bids so far for new computers in the lab> Each bid is about $800-$850 for a computer and LCD monitor. So we need everyone to find sponsors!!!! If each student brought in $35.00, we would have enough for 20 computers. All children will benefit from using new computers, and so, everyone is expected to bring in a minimum of $35.00. Tell your family and friends about our healthy fundraiser...no candy....no cookies...just healthy fun!!

HSA Upcoming Events

Thanks to all who attended our meeting on Oct. 4. Many of our new families were present and the three teachers who assisted S. Barbara and S. Theresa, Mr. Martel, Ms. Lashley and Mrs. Delandro, made this a true Home School meeting. Much was explained and shared and parents were grateful for the information.

More than 40 parents attended the HS information meeting ( held the same night)with Ms. Black and Ms. Becht and again appreciated the clear, informative gathering.

Mrs. Browne Baird from the HSA committee also spoke to our parents giving the role of the HSA in the life of the school. The upcoming events are the HALLOWEEN PARTYand the WALKATHON. Students are taking home information today on these two events along with the information about PROJECT TIE and the forms for Picture Day.

Our parents have Homework this weekend!!!!

Hope you have a blessed weekend.

They have completed one or two sections with honors and will continue in the program on Saturdays until they graduate. Congratulations Jeremiah, Serdal, Jeffrey and Nicholas, you make our school and your families very proud!!!
