We forget to send a paper reminder to you about the displays for the science projects. This is our monthly H.S.A. meeting and along with viewing the work of the students, you will have the opportunity to view a 10 minute video on Child Lures. All of this was announced at the Spring show back on May 11th. We hope to see some parents on Thursday night.

Below is a group of 5th graders preparing their project board.

Mr. Owens Visits Again!

Mr. Owens.JPG

SFA had a special visitor on Tuesday, May 29th. Mr. Lester Owens, who is the managing director for cash and trade operations at Deutsche Bank and a graduate of St. Teresa of Avila School in Brooklyn, acted as principal for the day. Mr. Owens visited us two years ago and again, the students learned much from his visit. He has 2,065 employees and works with 31 different countries and is responsible for 1.3 trillion dollars!!!
We are grateful for the time he invested in educating our students about banking. He has promised to arrange a trip in the fall for a select group of students to visit the NY headquarters of Deutsche Bank.
Here, Mr. Owens and Ms. Carol Balthrope-Stockton, vice president, take time for a photo-op!!!
