School Building
The office and the school building will be closed until Monday, August 27th. Check this website from time to time for some updates regarding opening days. Please amke sure you are completing your payments to SMART tuition.
Those who are paying SFA have already paid the whole tuition or at least the first half. Those of you who have received financial aid awards, please continue to pay a portion to SMART, at least $200 per month.
Use the phone number for SMART,given to you by Mrs. Baynes, if there are any questions about payment. Late fees apply, so make sure you pay the minimum or the amount you were assigned.

July 2-July 26 Summer Program meets:
Academic Program 8:30am - 11:45am Mon.-Thurs.
Activity Program 11:45am-3:00pm Mon. -Thurs.
July 2-July 26 Offices are open 8:30-1:30pm Mon.-Thurs.
RE-REGISTRATION: If you have not re-registered for Sept. you need to call the office
to check on available space and the fee is now $175.00
SMART TUITION Payment #2 is due by July 10 or July 20. Avoid late fees!!!
SFA TUITION Full payment was due by the end of June, a savings of $100.00
All families who are not paying in full must be enrolled in SMART and send tuition directly
to SMART. Checks or Money Order only for all school business.

School reopens for students in Grades 1-8 on Wed. Sept. 5 8:00 - 10:30am
Students in grades 1-8 come in on Thursday and Friday at the same times.
Students in Kindergarten arrive on Thursday and Friday only from 9:00-10:30am

Moving Along in the MSA Process
As you already know, we will be hosting a team from the Middle States Association in late October. The work of the Parish Education Commission, faculty and parents has been compiled following the guidelines of the document "Building Schools for the 21st Century". All the areas in which you were surveyed, the narratives reviewed by the PEC and the critical issues which surfaced from the indepth studies have been compiled into a document of more than 50 pages which is almost ready for the chairperson of the MSA team. We expect to place this document on our website so that you will have access to all the details As you may remember, information on our six year study is available on the Middle States Association Commission on Elementary Schools website and can be accessed by doing the following:
Go to www.ces-msa.org, then go to the link toward the bottom DOAS which is information on all schools that created a website for the Middle States Association. Click on DOAS and then put in 11225, our zip code. At this point we are the only school in 11225 that has this information. Once you do that, you will see all the information about SFA. This project was completed in 2004 and moved us forward to the spring of 2005 when we began the process for reaccredidation. Once the team visits the school using the document to examine how our reality matches our document, they will make the recommendation to renew our affiliation with the MSA>

Tuition and Finance Update
As the summer days pass, we remember each of you in our prayer and hope that you are safe and well. Summer school is moving along and the school building is being well cleaned and organized during this month. Don't forget to send your coupons to SMART each month. Mrs. Baynes continues to complete her work and will be finishing her years at the end of July. We have hired her replacement, Sister Marie Lenihan, a Sister of St. Joseph who has recently completed seven years at Catholic Charities and is looking forward to working with us at SFA. We welcome Sister Marie to our school community. She will begin in late August. In the meantime, Mrs. Tai or myself will be able to assist with any financial issues. The school office closes on Thurs. July 26. We will reopen on Mon. Aug. 27.
