Looking Forward to a New Year!!With the end of August around the corner and the Labor Day Parade on Monday, Sept. 3rd, there are but a few more days before we begin the new school year. As a staff, we have had our first meeting and the classrooms are being dusted and decorated and prepared for the arrival of our 400+ students!!! Yes once again, it appears that we will have an enrollment of about 408 students, with a waiting list of more than 15.
As you know, we are completing the study for our reaccreditation by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and we will host a visiting team in late October. The document which is more than 50 pages long will be available for your view in late September. The Parish Education Commission members have been composing reviewing various sections and the staff of the school has done the same. More information on this will be given to you on Wed. Sept. 19th at our "OPEN SCHOOL NIGHT"
School officially opens for our students in grades 1-8 on Wed.Sept. 5th, from 8:00am-10:30am; this schedule continues on Thursday and Friday. The Kindergarten will be welcomed to SFA on Thursday, Sept. 6 from 9:00am-10:30am. Their schedule is the same for Friday.
Teachers and administrators are involved in meetings and staff development each day from 11:00-2:00pm. This ensures a strong beginning for all concerned.
Enjoy the upcoming weekend and be at school ready to have an exciting educational experience next week!!
Sincerely,
Sister Theresa, S. Barbara and the teachers and staff!!!
