Prayers are Requested for Carine Desir Fontus

hands-color2.gif

As you may already know, Carine Desir Fontus, the mother of Dimitry Fontus in 4-103, was the woman who died on her flight home from Haiti. We have prayed each day as a school for her and for her whole family.
We continue to ask God's comfort to each of the members. Mrs. Fontus was a loving, generous, caring person who will be missed by many.

Details for the viewing and services are as follows:
Friday, Feb. 29 Guarino Funeral Home 9222 FlatlandsAve. 4:00pm-9:00 pm
Father Juan will conduct a service at 7:00pm

Sat., March 1, St. Francis of Assisi Church at 8:00am there will be a viewing until the funeral Mass begins at 9:00am.

Please join us in expressing our heartfelt sympathy and support to all her loved ones.

Winner of the Robot

Brea.JPG

Brea Emmanuel from 2-106 was the winner of the raffle for the robot! She is pictured here with Mr. Earl, the cardboard figure who reminded everyone to participate in the fundraiser. Thanks to all who sent back the booklet with the names and addresses. This is a simple way to earn money for the school!

This is done by filling out the PSAS form and submitting it with all documentation by March 15th, 2008. You may apply on line at www.psas.org. The access code is BROOK and the school code is 5929. There are applications on that website that can be printed. We can assist you by providing a copy of the application for you.
Many of our families have received $500.00 or more in aid, even those who thought they would not be eligible. If you need assistance, contact S. Marie or S. Barbara at 718-778-3700. For applications, speak to Mrs. Tai.

Connecting with the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens

Plant1.JPG

Ms. Curcio and Mrs. Kander attended a workshop at the BBG to maintain our link with them. Pictured in our science lab are the fifth graders observing a unique plant, related to the pineapple plant. There will be opportunities for the classes to learn first hand about this area of the science curriculum.
