Thanksgiving Outreach
At Mass on Friday, Fr. Juan reminded all of us of the importance of giving thanks and to say it aloud to our families and friends. At the offertory, representatives from the 14 classes brought two of their food items to the altar, the reminder of the other food was brought to the parish center where the St. Vincent de Paul Society members will stock the food pantry and prepare the Thanksgiving meal. Mr. Patrick David, our school musician enhanced the liturgy as the choir, under the direction of Ms. Ferdinand led us in song. The Communion mediation song, "Thank you, Lord" was a fitting reflection.
In addition to the classes' contribution, a portion of the money raised in our recent Walkathon will be sent to another group in Haiti who have been assisting with the relief effort.
Thanksgiving is a time when we take time to reflect on all that we have.....and to reflect on those who are in such desperate need. Thanks to all the parents and students who were generous with their food and money. Know you are blessed by all those who will benefit from your generosity. We best live the title CHRISTIAN, when we follow the mandates of Jesus in an real manner.

ALL SAINTS CELEBRATIONOn Tuesday, Nov. 4, students in grades 3 dressed as different saints and students in grade 8 read about their life and the whole school community prayed to the saints for assistance in our daily lives.
Many parents were able to attend the 8:45am prayer service. Under the direction of Mr. Patrick David and Ms. Ferdinand, our school choir and drummers led us in singing various songs. Seventh graders danced to the song "Sacred Creation" which puts the words of St. Francis of Assisi..."All praise to you for brother sun, sister moon , sister water....., brother fire..." to reflective music. Under the direction of the teachers, all participants brought us a deeper understanding of the saints in our lives...always reminding us of our call to live our lives according to the gospel of Jesus.
Among the saints represented were: St. Francis of Assisi, St. Clare of Assisi, St. Katherine Drexel, St. Juan Diego,St. Elizabeth Seton, Blessed Kateri Tekawitha, Fr. Mychal Judge, Pierre Toussaint, Dorothy Day, St. Frances Cabrini, St. Joseph, Pope John Paul II.
