International Cuisine on Sat. March 28,2009
Everyone is looking forward to a great evening of entertainment, cultural dishes and enjoying an evening together. Tickets are on sale NOW. Purchase your ticket at school before Friday afternoon and pay only $5.00. We haven't changed the price since 1995!! Those paying at the door pay $7.00...still a great bargain. Flyers will go home on Tuesday reminding everyone of the event. Thanks to all those who are cooking, baking and working on the committees. We can't do this fundraiser without you!

Saving Money and EnergyWhen we attended the Celebration of Teaching and Learning last Friday at the NY Hilton, one exhibit showed a new networking device. When two of us showed great interest in it, the vendor gave us one to use. This device is shown in the photo. It allows up to five people to work off one computer!!! Each of these students has a monitor, mouse and keyboard and each is able to work on a different program at the same time. In room 205, there are 3 monitors, mice and keyboards and only one computer. This saves money since only one computer is needed and it saves power for the same reason!! We hope to purchase more of these devices. Thanks to all who support our fund raising; this is how we continue to update our technology!

Like the Lottery, "you have to be in it to "win" it!!! Even if you think, you may not get the aid, complete the form...you just may be eligible!!!
The authorization code is Brook, the school code is 5929 and the parish code for SFA parish is 52062

ASK the DAStudents from 5-202 were on the radio today at 1:00pm. The whole school listened in at 1:00 to WNYE 91.5 FM. The show began with a skit, "Walking on Easy Street". The students were the characters of Fingers and Easy as they shop in an electronics store on Fulton St. After the skit, the listening audience was invited to call 718-522-5517 to discuss the case. This show airs every Monday from 1:00-2:00, it is sponsored by Hon. Charles J. Hynes, Kings County District Attorney. The photo shows our six "actors".

March 14 is PI DayDo you know why March 14 is referred to us "PI DAY"? The photos below show 7th and 8th grade students involved in an activity to determine the value of "PI", which has a value of 22/7 or 3.14.
Ms. Becht's Math class explored the ratio between the circumference and the diameter.

Pleae make sure you keep your appointment. It is essential that you come to meet with the teacher or teachers to receive the report.

Registration is in ProcessDon't be disappointed if there is no space for your child next year! If you have a new child who will be entering in Sept. 09, you must notify us now. Re-Registration fees are due by March 25. We have had many, many inquiries about entrance into grades 3,5 and 7 from the two Catholic Schools that are closing in June. In order for us to give them an answer in the next two weeks, we need for you to complete re-registration and make sure your school fees are up to date. All past tuition needs to be paid by March 15.
There are many spaces available in Kindergarten, please invite friends and relatives to call for an appointment to see our school.
