Happy 2010 to All!!

Blessings on this new year to all of you. On Dec. 18, the parents and students in the Class of 2010 prepared their first fund raiser to assist with graduation expenses. Through the generous donations of the 8th grade families and some teachers, and most importantly, the organization and voluntary service of five parents and Mrs. Noel's sister, more than $500.00 was put into the Graduation Fund!
Below are some photos of the activity which was held in the Parish Center graciously offered to us by Father Juan, our pastor.

Wishing All a Blessed Christmas!

NH Dancers.JPG

Nursing Home 2.JPG

We had a wonderful Christmas Show which highlighted the talents of our children and teachers. The musical accompaniment by Mr. Williams enhanced the performances. The seven classes were well instructed and provided everyone with the true meaning and spirit of Christmas. The students also performed service to the community in a variety of ways: 1st and 6th graders entertained at St. Joachim and Ann Facility and Palm Gardens Nursing Home, many classes contributed to the parish for the Christmas flowers, a few classes donated "gently" used coats to the city's coat drive, many in each class sent contributions to Hour Children, Inc. an organization whose executive director is a Sister of St. Joseph. This program relies solely on donations which assist children whose mothers are incarcerated and assists the mothers when thay are reunited with their children.
The photos show many of the wonderful happenings of this past December! Enjoy the photos!

Project Alert and Life Skills Programs

Allison PDHP.JPGWe are very fortunate to have special programs to assist our students in making choices. Through the Catholic Schools' Office, we have a counselor at SFA on Monday and Tuesday. Seventh graders study the descriptions and effects of a variety of drugs and alcohol and the importance of making wise decisions.
Grade 3 and 4 work with the counselor on "Life Skills" such as getting along with others, being assertive, learning ways of controlling anger, managing time, etc. The photo below shows Ms. Warfield and a group of students.
