Important HSA Meeting TonightOur annual " Back to School" meeting begins in the auditorium at 6:15pm and concludes in the classrooms. Please be on time!
This is an opportunity to hear updates about our school, to meet with the pastor and to visit your child's classroom and formally meet the teachers.

In Thanksgiving![]()
On Sunday, Sept. 11th, 2011, the school and parish celebrated my 25th Anniversary at SFA. My family and some Sisters of St. Joseph joined in the celebration. The Liturgy was so uplifting and joyful thanks to the 4 priests and the worshipping community at SFA/St. Blaise parish.
I am grateful to Father Juan and the committee: Parishioners, Advisory Board members, faculty and administration for their tireless efforts in creating a celebration par excellence!!!
The memories of the day will last a lifetime! Thanks to all who attended, to all who sent cards, flowers and tokens of appreciation. The DVD presentations, created by Branille, our web keeper and member of the Advisory Board, depict special activities held at SFA during these past 25 years. I hope to share these with families at some point.
I am humbled and grateful for your appreciation of the ministry I have shared with so many wonderful families, dedicated staff, Sisters of St. Joseph, and supportive Marist family.
Gratefully,
S. Theresa

September NotesWe have had a very good beginning. This week the BIG APPLE fundraiser begins. Information will be sent home on Thursday and Mr. Felpo will come to speak to the classes on Friday to tell about the catalog sale and the prizes that can be earned.
We need to ask as many as possible to join in assisting us with our roof restoration project. By next week the roof will be completed and we will have our outdoor space once again.
The parish is having an "End of Summer" carnival in two areas of our school yard on Sunday, Sept. 18. Come and enjoy games, activities and good food!!

Updatesv Re: Roof
Before Hurricane Irene, the roof restoration was going well with a completion date of Sept. 12. This week with the continued rain, the project has been stalled and we await info on a different completion date.
v Re: Website
As you can see, the School News is again updated and teachers will be able to update their pages this weekend. Thanks for your patience
v Re: Sunday, Sept. 11 12:30pm Liturgy
Please join with the parish as I celebrate my 25 years here at SFA School. It really doesn't seem like that long a time!! I am grateful for all the hundreds and hundreds of families that I have had the privilege of serving and the many coworkers who made the ministry of education here an opportunity to bring the reign of God, a reign of peace, joy and hope to this special area of Brooklyn!!!

Phones Working and Roof Restoration ProceedingAfter a few days of phone and internet problems, we are back online and back in business!!! Our roof is moving along and should be completed by the early part of the week of Sept. 12.
We should have a nice dry winter!!! At this time, the large schoolyard cannot be used and so, the classes in grades 5-8 will meet in the auditorium before going upstairs with the teachers.
We will open for our 103rd year on Wed. Sept. 7 with grades 1-8 and then bring the new four and five year olds on Thursday, Sept. 8th.
We look forward to welcoming more than 350 children to SFA ![]()
